Previews for Med's NBA Roster v3.3, FIBA 2K14 v4.0, PBA 2K14 v9.1, Kuroko No Basuke Beta

It's been really quiet lately, because everything is finishing up for some huge updates in the next couple of weeks. Med's NBA rosters, FIBA 2K14, PBA 2K14 will be updated, and Kuroko V Slam Dunk will release an open beta very soon.

Med's NBA Roster v3.3

As we near Christmas, Honeybadger has started working on the new Christmas jerseys for NBA teams. As of right now, we only have Christmas jerseys for four NBA teams (Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs). We have to wait for Honeybadger to complete all of the Christmas jerseys before we release the next roster update. Other roster updates Jimmer Fredette being released by the New Orleans Pelicans, accessories, ratings and rotations updates will be included. Rumor has it there is a Milwaukee Bucks Alternate Court floating around, once we ask permission from the owner who made it, we'll include it in the next update. It also looks like John-Blair Bickerstaff is going to be the permanent coach for the Houston Rockets this season, expect that in the next NBA roster update as well..

FIBA 2K14 v4.0

FIBA 2K14 v4.0's long awaited update is about to be released, there's just a few things to finish up and then uploading the files will start. It updates all of the courts and scoreboards for all 2015 tournaments and will included updated roster for Angola, China, Croatia, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, Nigeria, Senegal, Spain, Serbia (making a total of 12 team rosters updated to their 2015 lineups). That makes Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic, Finland, Italy, Iran, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine the remaining teams that need updates (total of 14 teams). We still need to add the other teams from their respective tournaments which has been taking much longer than originally thought (teams such as Venezuela from FIBA Americas, Lebanon from FIBA Asia, Cameroon from AfroBasket, etc.). We hope you'll enjoy this new update which partially updates the EuroBasket teams, fully updates all AfroBasket teams and updates China for FIBA Asia. We hope you will be more patient with future updates where we expect to fully update ALL teams as well as add additional teams as well

PBA 2K14 v9.1 & New 2015-2016 Season Trailer by IMzKDC23

(Click image to proceed to video trailer)

A new PBA 2K14 trailer was released by IMzKDC23 on his YouTube channel. Everyone should check it out by clicking the image above to proceed to the trailer! The new Al Wasl Sports Club court from Dubai will be added to the next update, along with multiple cyberface updates. We will also attempt to update all warmup jackets for all of the teams in the next update. With the FIBA 2K14 update coming first, PBA 2K14 v9.1 will now add Gilas 2.0, 3.0 and the upcoming Gilas 4.0 in this update which will include a necessary follow up pack to be downloaded to include our new files. The updates for the college teams (UAAP & NCAA) are next in line for PBA 2K14 (hopefully we'll have completely updated teams in v10) as members of the group such as Miles Rivera & Neal Bartolome have already started on the jersey & cyberface works for the college updates.

Kuroko V Slam Dunk: Kuroko No Basuke Open Beta

Last on the last is the much anticipated open beta release for Kuroko V Slam Dunk which will include the entire Kuroko No Basuke side of the mod (complete teams, cyberfaces, jerseys and courts) which is expected to drop this December once KoroX & Seushir0 finish up the final cyberface requirements for the Kuroko No Basuke side. This will NOT include the Slam Dunk teams as the Slam Dunk side of the mod is still in development. This will also not work with Association/Season/MyCareer mode yet as it is still in Beta phase and is primarily designed for Quick Game & Blacktop modes. An accompanying gameplay sliders pack will be included in the files to bring the best anime-like gameplay experience for the roster. KoroX and Seushir0 have been working hard the last few weeks to bring us the cyberfaces necessary for the roster and I am grateful for that. Kuroko V Slam Dunk is developed by a 3-man team with occasional consultations with J-Paul, the animations director for Med's NBA roster.

Once Honeybadger finishes up the Christmas jerseys, Med's NBA Rosters v3.3 will be released. FIBA 2K14 is the next update to be released which is expected to arrive after Med's NBA Rosters v3.3 and before PBA 2K14 v9.1. Kuroko V Slam Dunk: Kuroko No Basuke Open Beta is the last on the list to be released after KoroX & Seushir0 complete the remaining cyberfaces (expected to be released this December). Still no release dates, we release updates ASAP! Thank you for being patient everyone, just a little bit more!

Med's NBA Roster v3.2 Released

There's been enough changes around the league to warrant an NBA roster update for Med's NBA roster. There's been a LOT of changes to the roster (transactions, ratings, accessories, signature skills, animations), new jerseys, new gameplay slider improvements, etc!

New Jerseys & Color Combinations Added

We've added the Memphis Grizzlies Retro Jersey, Miami Heat White Alternate & Military Jerseys by Honeybadger and the Atlanta Hawks Mix Up (Red Top & Black Bottom) jersey by Mythbuster. There are also new color combinations (jersey slots) for multiple teams provided by chuajefry. These include Home & Away options for the dark Atlanta Hawks jerseys, the Away option for the white Golden State Warriors jersey, and more. The Los Angeles Clippers' Red jersey has also been re-assigned as the primary away jersey for the team.

Coaching, Gameplay & Roster Changes

With no timetable on Steve Kerr's return from injury, Luke Walton has been temporarily implemented as the Head Coach for the Golden State Warriors in this update. Coaching Profiles have been updated once more to produce even more 3 point activity. Most player ratings have been adjusted and signature skills have been removed & added based on player performances this season, making this roster update a more accurate representation of the current NBA season. James Ennis & Mario Chalmers of Miami have been traded to Memphis for Jarnell Stokes & Beno Udrih. The New Orleans Pelicans have also signed Toney Douglas & Jimmer Fredette. The Philadelphia 76ers signed Phil Pressey while the Denver Nuggets waived Erick Green in favor of Kostas Papanikolaou. Accessories, rotations, body types have also been updated in this roster update.

Hardwood Classics Oracle Arena by Mythbuster

Mythbuster just released two new court updates this week. TD Garden (Boston Celtics' home court) & two versions of Oracle Arena (Golden State Warriors' home court). This new roster update not only reactivates the option of choosing NBA Global Games courts, but also allows you to choose the option of playing in the Hardwood Classics version of the Oracle Arena, separate from the current season look which will no longer require you to perform file replacing of any kind. However, this update only includes the Hardwood Classics version of the Warriors' home court, that means you still have to download the official court updates from Mythbuster.

Miscellaneous Updates

For the new jerseys by Honeybadger & Mythbuster as well as his new Hardwood Classics Oracle Arena court, please re-download Main Directory Files 16 once more to enjoy these new additions. Please do NOT forget to read the Changelog to learn more about the changes in this update.

Med's NBA 2K14 Global Released

Due to popular demand, I will be releasing my personally modified NBA 2K14 global.

Med's NBA 2K14 Global

This global is based on [CAM]'s final global that was released before he unofficially retired. Huge credits to him for providing the base of this global. It does not modify any of the default logos in your global, that means the NBA 2K14 logo in the title screen and in the quick game team selection screen remains unmodified. This global features different body types and sweat patterns from the default global, and is technically also the base for the PBA 2K14 and FIBA 2K14 global. As with the PBA 2K14 & FIBA 2K14 globals, the NBA logo patch on the jerseys have been removed to fit the current look of the NBA jerseys since the 2014-2015 NBA season.

Stance Socks

Something relatively new to the global is the inclusion of a standard Stance design in every sock. However, with my limited experience in modifying globals, it only shows up on white socks and does not show up in black socks (thus, making black socks appear like regular black socks). I am also still unable to assign team colors to the socks like the striped long socks, something I believe can be achieved through hex editing which I have no experience in.

Features

Having been based on[CAM]'s final global, it has the Adidas Leg Sleeves (made popular by Derrick Rose), replacing the default Hex Pad Leg Sleeves in the accessories. This also has the Leg Sleeves looking like very long Knee Sleeves with the socks shown. Knee sleeves are much longer in this global as well compared to its default length."

This is an optional global file and suits my personal taste. However, people were wondering about my global so I decided to finally share it with everyone. Should it result in good feedback, we will consider heavily modifying it with ideas for improvement. However as of now, this global is not really my priority when it comes to modifying and you should always remember to backup your current global file in case it does not suit your personal taste.

Compatibility of Med's NBA Roster, FIBA 2K14 & PBA 2K14

Ever wondered exactly how Med's NBA Roster, FIBA 2K14, PBA 2K14 and the upcoming Kuroko V Slam Dunk are all compatible? In this post, we discuss how compatible all of the mods really are with each other, and the significance of having compatible mods.

Rosters, Cyberfaces, Courts & Jerseys

All of the cyberfaces, courts, and jerseys for the NBA roster, FIBA 2K14 and PBA 2K14 are compatible with each other, meaning it will not replace any of the current NBA files. This is achieved through the different assigning of file names for the rosters for each respective mod. If any replacements are necessary, it means the new file is an improved quality file that should overwrite your current file. All mods share one Appdata folder and one Saves folder despite how many folder for NBA 2K14 you create.

Logos

Med's NBA Roster, FIBA 2K14, and PBA 2K14 all have their own logo file. But you can load each roster and have their team logos show up properly despite the modded logos you've downloaded. So what's the point in having different Logos files? The logos files for each mod only differs in the league logo (shown in Association & Roster Management's Free Agents), All-Star, Rookie Showcase, Playoffs & Finals logos. If you are trying to save your disk space and decide not to copy your NBA 2K14 folder, it is recommended that you download one logos file from any of the mods from the series that you would be happy with as your primary logo file.

Scoreboards

Both PBA 2K14 & FIBA 2K14 have their own scoreboards, but I don't mod scoreboards or scoreboard logos for NBA rosters. They are all compatible if you use the default 2K scoreboard, however are no longer compatible once you start using the mod-specific scoreboards. That means the PBA scoreboard will not work with NBA & FIBA rosters, and the FIBA scoreboard will not work with NBA & PBA rosters. The scoreboards are accompanied by a english.iff text file that corrects the fonts used for the scoreboards. These text files contain the text used for PBA 2K14 & FIBA 2K14 that completely modifies all in-game text, converting it into PBA or FIBA-related text respectively. This text file is important to backup if you only use NBA rosters.

Presentation (Optional) Files

FIBA 2K14 & PBA 2K14 both have their own optional files which include many presentation files such as referee attire, headlines for Association, basketballs, overlays, and event logos. PBA 2K14 even has its own jukebox! These are the files that improve your presentation heavily, completely converting your game into your preferred mod. These are OPTIONAL and are not required to properly run the mods, hence, you must backup your original files.

Portrait

The NBA roster, FIBA 2K14, PBA 2K14 and the upcoming Kuroko V Slam Dunk all use the Universal Portrait Project for its portrait file. Thus, the Universal Portrait Project is a separate mod, with its own updates. Luckily, all of the portraits are compatible with each other because of the portrait adding method used to prevent the replacement of existing portraits. For more information on the Universal Portrait Project, visit the page on this website.

Universal Portrait Project

Significance of Compatibility

Compatibility saves space and allows you keep your mods in the same NBA 2K14 folder without having to create multiple copies of the folder. However, if you have the luxury of disk space and wish to play the mods in its fully converted form, it is recommended for you to copy your 2K14 folder and completely modify for your authentic PBA 2K14 or FIBA 2K14 experience. If you're saving space and just want to be able to load all of the rosters in one NBA 2K14 game, there's no need for you to download the optional files and it is recommended that you use the default NBA 2K scoreboard to ensure compatibility of all mods. A separate software is also available for you to download in case you want to keep everything in a single folder but wish to be able to switch between NBA, PBA & FIBA mods on the fly. The software is called JGSME, it allows you to mix & match your mods without having to keep backups of your files manually. Visit the JGSME thread located in the link below to download the software. Video tutorials and instructions are also included in the NLSC thread.

PBA 2K14 v9.0 Released

We're back! PBA 2K14 returns for the new PBA season with a lot of new stuff. Updated rosters, improved gameplay, new presentation and other new stuff, as well as some returning concepts that have been implemented in the update.

PBA 2K14 Returns! #LigaNgMgaBida

PBA rosters have been updated for the 2015-2016 season. All team rosters are updated with accurate jersey numbers, animatinos, ratings updates and transactions. Over 80 new cyberfaces are added to the mod with new jerseys for all PBA teams included. The Draft Projection for MyCareer has also been updated to include the 2015 PBA Draft results. Jerseys for Team Ginebra & Team Grand Slam as alternate jerseys for both the Star Hotshots & the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel have also been added. With a new season, new discoveries are also present. New audio IDs have been added to players with recognizable last names for PBA 2K14. The list of players whose last names are now recognized is in the changelog. We've edited the gameplay sliders for a MAJOR improvement regarding attacking the basket. Underhand layups or scoop shots are no longer present due to this slider edit, making attacking the basket a lot smoother. This gameplay slider edit will also be present in future updates for Med's NBA Roster and FIBA 2K14.

Fictional PBA Home Courts by Mythbuster!

A concept implemented in a previous version of PBA 2K14 which included the Fictional Home Courts project for PBA teams is now a mainstay in PBA 2K14 thanks to Mythbuster. Initially, we discontinued the Fictional Home Courts project for PBA 2K14 due to the quality issues of the courts. However, with the help of Mythbuster, the Fictional Home Courts now have a quality that is on par with the rest of the aspects of PBA 2K14 and will now be considered a mainstay for future PBA 2K14 updates. Mythbuster also had the courtesy of updating the Gatorade Hoops Center by adding benches to the court. The roster file "PBA Phil Cup Home" has the Fictional Home Courts assigned to the PBA teams while the "PBA Phil Cup" is the regular roster.

New Presentation Files

New Title Screens are available for your own personal taste that includes individual title screens of the chosen PBA 2K14 cover athletes for the new PBA season, as well as bundled title screens of three of the originally chosen cover athletes and of all of the cover athletes. The new PBA 2K14 logo has also been implemented into all of the Presentation Files. The new PBA molten basketball is included in the update, as well as the new referee attire for the new 2015-2016 PBA season.

Miscellaneous Updates

All changes regarding the new season has been implemented, including the new scoreboard, PBA 2016 logos, as well as the storylines for Association mode. The logos and bootup logos have been updated to include the new Mahindra Enforcer, TNT Tropang Texters, and UP Fighting Maroons logos. All of these logos have also been implemented in the 2015-2016 NBA Logos for Med's NBA Roster and the FIBA 2K14 Logos & Scoreboards for FIBA 2K14. Further details on the differences between the logos files will be posted soon.

New Icons have also been included in the PBA Optional Files. Instructions on how to edit the icon of your game shortcuts will be posted during the weekend. More options have been added for you to be able to personalize your PBA 2K experience. Now you are able to select your own personal choice of icon, title screen, basketball, and scoreboard.

Future Updates & Plans

We've temporarily removed the option to be drafted by NCAA/UAAP teams because the UAAP and NCAA rosters are still not updated as of now, as there is difficulty updating both collegiate leagues because of the lack of player info, imagery for jerseys, etc. Gilas 2.0 and Gilas 3.0 (both part of FIBA 2K14) will also be included in future PBA 2K14 updates. The PBA Rookie Showcase lineups will be updated soon with new jerseys and new player rosters, but is not the current priority. Plans for an updated jukebox to include the new PBA Theme song and a few more songs are also considered for future updates, but are currently on hold due to our jukebox modder's hiatus. Parts 1 to 4 of the Full Pack have all been updated, but the Full Pack (Parts 1 to 4 Combined) is still in the process of being uploaded. Perhaps it will be finished uploading tomorrow. For now, let us all enjoy the new PBA season, and the new PBA 2K14 roster update! Please do NOT forget to read the Changelog to learn more about the changes in this update.
